Middle & High School Programs

Rules, regulations, dates and application process for our Haegg & Sansom private lesson music programs.
Rules & Regulations:
The Haegg Family & Sansom Foundation Programs (valued at $3,000 per year) are “needs based” awards using the income thresholds established by the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services (FDACS - see below for income eligibility levels).

New Haegg / Sansom Student Applicants:
Parents are asked to bring the first 2 pages of your most recent income tax return to the audition. Students are asked to bring a copy of their grades from their most recently completed school year to the audition.  No copies will be retained by MFGN.

Returning Haegg / Sansom Student Applicants:
Returning students are not required to audition. However, parents must confirm that their family income and student’s grades meet the program’s eligibility parameters. Physical tax returns and grade reports do not need to be provided.  A separate survey will be sent to returning students by Cathy Pflieger in advance of the new school year.

The Program Committee will select applications to be interviewed and to be given the opportunity to display their musical talent through an audition process. Selection of music teachers and scheduling of lessons will be determined by the Program Committee.  If the student is awarded the scholarship, parents are responsible for transportation to lessons. There will be two recitals during the year and the students are required to perform in both.  Recitals are February 7, 2027 and May 30, 2027.
Key Dates:
  • Application and recommendation letter are due to the Haegg / Sansom Chair by October 2, 2026.
  • Auditions are on Saturday, October 10, 2026 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and will be held at Gulf Coast High School.
