Please help us!
We strive to make music accessible to all students of merit and economic need.
Music education can be expensive!
As a student advances, so do the costs. Here are some examples of the larger "capital" expenses a student might incur as they progress:
-
$3,000 for private lessons for 1 year
-
$2,500 for an intermediate alto saxophone
-
$2,000 for an intermediate violin
-
$3,500 for the average summer camp
-
$4,000 for an intermediate French Horn
Day-to-day operating costs can also be expensive. Here are a few examples:
-
$400 to overhaul a woodwind or brass instrument
-
$100 to restring a violin bow
-
$30 for a box of 10 clarinet reeds
-
$25 for 1 oboe reed
-
$40 for a set of percussion mallets
The Music Foundation is a volunteer organization that means that more than 90% of your donation goes directly to support our kids. Your donation will be used to support 1) private lessons for students who cannot afford them, 2) our annual scholarship competition, and/or 3) to cover other music expenses for students who lack the means to cover the costs (music, supplies, repairs). If you would like to make a gift directed to a specific cause or need, please contact Joe Duffy, MFGN President, at joe.duffy@musicfoundationnaples.org.
Thank you!
