The Summer Scherzos had a wonderful second meeting in July at the home of Jeannette Boucher. There were 14 attendees. Jeannette was a gracious hostess and made us feel at home. New and familiar faces were present and we had a good time intermingling with each other.
Besides our pianists Joan Tischler, Jeannette Boucher, Marilyn Scott, Marilyn Stanhope, Rumy Wildner , Norma Farmilo, and Claire Burden, we had Cindy Quehl, flute; Martin Cohn, clarinet; Stuart Warshauer, violin; Eddie Brennan, viola; and Geraldine Gale, voice.
Pat Babikian, pianist, and Phyllis Gryskiewicz, violin, attended our get together as guests this time. It was nice to see them again.
Jerry Casey was a newcomer to our musical meeting, although she was a member of the Naples Music Club from 1971-1978, when she lived in the Naples area. We welcome her back. She is a singer and composer.
Jane McLaughlin, no stranger to the Naples Music Club, came as guest to our music group and enjoyed our musical display of talent.
Our musical palette displayed a range from the Baroque to Modern Day Jazz and crisscrossed countries and continents.
Composers such as Bach, Handel, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Bizet, Robert Schumann, Manuel de Falla, Poulenc, Thomas Dorsey, Sousa and Jazz musician Thad Jones were represented. Solos, Duets and a Trio rounded out our musical experience.
Our next meeting will take place on Saturday, August 9th, at Maurizio Nisita’s home.
Directions will be forwarded to you at a later date.
